RESOURCE EFFICIENT HOUSE
NEW BUILD DWELLING
Built in partnership with BRE and Zero Waste Scotland, the Resource Efficient House is located within the BRE Innovation Park in Ravenscraig.
The ambition of the Development Team was to design an exemplar dwelling which drives forward the principles of resource efficient construction and deliver a market leading housing model which would signal the future for housing development in Scotland.
The dwelling sought to exceed the building performance levels set out in Section 7 of the current Technical Guidance to achieve a level greater than 'Gold' and offer a housing model which demonstrates Zero Carbon Emissions. This was achieved by utilising innovative off-site construction methods to ensure a fabric-first approach to sustainable design.
The Resource Efficient House was featured in the Urban Realm Architecture Scotland Annual 2013.
